Casa Caroseno’s First Birthday

We still haven’t fully processed the beautiful weekend we spent together celebrating Casa Caroseno’s first birthday.

Parabéns, Casa.

It feels like yesterday when someone took a picture of us by the little stone wall of our countryside home, on Giuseppe’s first birthday.

Soon, we’ll tell you about all the beautiful things that happened during those magical days of Parabéns . But seeing this photograph developed on film, looking so much like the ones from our childhood, even wearing almost the same clothes, brought us an overwhelming feeling of saudade. And, at the same time, so much happiness.

As children, we often think of “growing up” as something impossibly far away.

Who will we become? What will we do? Will we still be close? Will we still want to play, dream, run and dance?

Casa Caroseno’s first birthday reminded us that those two children are, in fact, still here.

And that our bond has become much stronger than we could ever have imagined.

Shoulder to shoulder, side by side. Still dreaming, running and dancing together.

Two peas in a pod, as our international guests would say.

Being siblings is one of those things we sometimes take for granted. But growing up and building a deep and genuine friendship, beyond simply being connected by blood, is something extraordinarily magical. Parabéns.
