Today, March 8th, feels like the perfect day to inaugurate the Woman to Woman section of our journal, a space dedicated to women, to the support I have received over the years as a small female entrepreneur, and to the strength that comes from women supporting women.
It will be a place where we share the stories of the women we admire and feel inspired by: small interviews, personal reflections, and encounters. Stories of women who are part of the Caroseno world, or women we meet along the way around the world, and who leave something meaningful behind.
The first woman who comes to mind when I think about International Women’s Day, a day of independence and of honoring the powerful energy of the women who came before us, is our grandmother.

She is the quiet center of everything that flows through what we do today. From my father’s cooking, deeply rooted in the love he inherited from her kitchen, to the guest rooms that look out onto her balcony, all the way to the Casa in her countryside, which has slowly become a dream coming to life.
Time passes, and our grandmother’s little eyes grow smaller with age, yet they remain incredibly bright. Bright with the same love she still manages to give us, even now that she no longer has the strength to cook.
One might say that the figure of the Puglian grandmother has become a bit of a cliché. But perhaps it has become one because these women truly carry a strength that still makes us, the younger generations, look at them with admiration.
From grandmother to woman. From woman to woman.
