When I arrived at La Margarita de Areco, in Argentina I thought I was going there just to learn how to make Argentine empanadas. Instead, an entire world of extraordinary connections opened up.

I discovered this estancia thanks to our friend Julia of Outliers, a precious guide throughout our travels.
La Margarita de Areco reminded me of time standing still, just like at Casa Caroseno. For a few hours, I forgot where I was. I was fully present, surrounded by the silence of the countryside, horses, and children running barefoot through the fields.
It felt like being inside a movie, except it was all real.
A little fairy with a mushroom-shaped bob haircut smiles at me and tries to take photos with my toys. Catalina shows me her beautiful art pieces, immersed in nature, while Matías teaches me how to make the best empanadas I’ve ever eaten.
Between one empanada and the next, we decide to organize an event together for the following week: a small lunch to bring people together in this magical atmosphere. That’s when Supper Segreta comes into play, a format I co-founded. And yes, we planned it all in just one week.
Together with Agustina, dear friend and founder of Fhilomè, a project I’ll tell you more about soon, because it carries such a powerful feminine energy, we gather all the ingredients for the table, and here we are.
Casa Caroseno will bring a dish from my father Giovanni’s culinary tradition, la Poveraccia. Matías will prepare Argentine lamb, and together with the partners of Supper Segreta, we’ll live this magical moment.
I’ll tell you more!
